2015 Winter Conference

2015 APAI Winter Conference and Trade Show
The 2015 APAI Winter Conference and Trade Show was held at the Marriott East in Indianapolis, December 9th-11th. The first day included the Board of Directors meeting and Committee meetings followed by a reception and dinner. The second day consisted of general sessions, educational breakout sessions by nationally known speakers, with plenty of time to network with colleagues and some 50 exhibits at the trade show.   Four concurrent tracks were available for  participants to select including 1. Asphalt Paving and Laydown, 2.Production and Quality Control, 3.Business, and 4. Agency, which is intended for local government agencies. Howard Kellman (Indiana Sports Hall of Fame Broadcaster) served as Master of Ceremonies for the Annual Awards Luncheon where Quality Pavement Awards and Safe Worker Awards were presented. The day's events ended with the Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony and Scholarship Banquet.
The third day included general sessions on Workplace Communication, Drug Testing in the Workplace and an interactive session entitled Hot Mix Hot Buttons, hosted by Tom Partipilo, E & B Paving.

APAI President Jeff Swan (Walsh & Kelly) presenting INDOT Commissioner Brandye Hendrickson with the Perpetual Pavement Award. The Perpetual Pavement Award was given to INDOT for a section on US 31 by the Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA) for a pavement that has performed over 35 years without any major reconstruction.
