2014 Quality Pavement Award Nomination Form

Annual APAI Quality Pavement Awards
 

Each year the Asphalt Pavement Association recognizes superior workmanship and quality for non-Indiana DOT projects at the annual Winter Conference. Owners, designers and contractors are recognized and presented with a plaque at the Conference Event. Awards are given in seven categories. They are:
  1. New Construction, 2000 tons or more
  2. Non-Governmental, New Construction
  3. Non-Governmental Reconstruction
  4. Reconstruction, City
  5. Reconstruction, County
  6. Governmental ( schools, hospitals, post office, trails, etc.)
  7. Airports.
Projects are nominated by the asphalt paving producer/contractor in the late fall for projects completed that season. Each project submitted is site visited and rated on the following criteria:
Transverse Joints                        Longitudinal Joints                        Difficulty of Construction
Hand Work                                   Appearance of Overall Project      Overall Workmanship
Texture of Surface                        Drainage                                        Smoothness Quality
Additional points may be awarded for Green Construction (i.e.Warm Mix, Porous, Etc.)
"Reviewer Bonus Points" may be awarded for exceptional conditions, technologies or circumstances.
