New PerRoad-Xpress Software for Designing Low-Volume Roads

The Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA) has announced the release of new PerRoad-Xpress software for the design of Perpetual Pavements.

This addition to the PerRoad software design suite supplements the full design capabilities of PerRoad 3.2. This new low- and medium volume road and parking-lot version of the popular PerRoad pavement design program is available free.

This new design package is an easy-to-use, all-on-one-screen program for designing Perpetual Pavements for low- and medium-volume roads and parking lots.

PerRoad-Xpress allows the designer either to use defaults for traffic and soil, or to input the actual values if they are known. Granular base thicknesses from 0 to 10 inches are included. If the average yearly modulus of the asphalt pavement is known, then it can be input by the
user, or if it is not known, a default value can be selected.

The software quickly provides the user with a recommendation for the total thickness of asphalt pavement needed for a particular situation.

PerRoad-Xpress was developed in response to requests by public works officials and owners of commercial property by Auburn University’s Dr.David Timm, author of the original
PerRoad program.

PerRoad-Xpress can be downloaded for free from the Asphalt Pavement Alliance web site at www.asphaltalliance.com . PerRoad 3.2, the latest version of the original software, is also available for free download from the same Web site.
