2015 Quality Pavement Awards

2015 APAI Quality Pavement Awards
Eight asphalt paving contractors, project owners and .the design teams were honored in ceremonies held at the Annual APAI Awards Luncheon at the Marriott East Hotel in Indianapolis on December 10, 2015. The Luncheon was held in conjunction with APAI Annual Conference and Trade Show. Awards are given each year in the following categories:
  • New Construction greater than 2000 tons (city streets,county roads, subdivisions)
  • Non-Governmental New Construction (parking lots, private and industrial)
  • Non-Governmental Reconstruction (parking lots, private and industrial)
  • Reconstruction / County (Overlay, county roads, subdivisions)
  • Reconstruction / City (Overlay, county roads, subdivisions)
  • Governmental (city- county lots, state parks, schools, recreational trails)
  • Airports (runways, aprons, taxiways)
  • Sport / Recreational Surfaces (asphalt pavements with some type of coating) [new category in 2015]
Nominations are submitted along with project photos of projects completed in the last year. Projects are visited and judged by an engineer. The judges recommendations are reviewed by the Pavement Awards Committee. Projects are judged on elements such as longitudinal and transverse joint construction, texture and uniformity, workmanship,and green technologies. INDOT project are not allowed for this award.
